New Art Direction: Your First Glimpse of What’s Coming

If you’ve been following Venelin (our founder) and Rasmus (our Art Director), you already know something big is happening behind the scenes.

Scars of Honor is entering a major visual transformation - and it’s not a small pass or a quick polish. This is a full-scale step forward for the world of Aragon.

Today, we want to share your first real glimpse of what that means.

A Bigger Team, A Bigger Vision

When we first began working on Scars of Honor, we were a small team - about a dozen developers building a dream MMORPG with limited resources.

Today, more than 100 people are shaping this world together.

That growth matters because it finally allows us to bring Venelin’s original vision to life at the quality level we always aimed for. We now have the talent and bandwidth to upgrade every layer of the game - the kind of upgrades you feel the moment you step into the world.

What’s Changing (And What’s Staying the Same)

We’re staying true to our stylized identity. That’s part of our DNA, and it’s not going anywhere.

What is changing is the richness and clarity across the whole game:

  • more refined details

  • smoother, more expressive animations

  • improved lighting and VFX

  • environments that feel more alive

  • a tighter connection between gameplay and art direction

The goal isn’t to add “more.”
It’s to elevate what’s already there - so every zone, every enemy, and every spell hits harder.

Yes, Everything Is Getting an Upgrade

Heroes. Monsters. Equipment. Environments. Spells.
Basically… everything.

And the results are already showing. The new armors, spells, and enemy designs are on another level. The team is doing incredible work - and we can’t wait for you to see it.

You should see them.
You will see them.
Just… not today.

We have a plan for revealing these upgrades properly, and we want to do it right.

A Tiny Teaser (Because We Know You’re Curious)

For now - and yes, we know this is borderline frustrating - here’s a small teaser: a simple “Before & After.”

Not a hero.
Not an NPC.
Not a giant monster.

Just a crafting room.

Specifically: a chemistry lab.

Same place, same purpose - but now with a stronger mood, more believable materials, and that living-world atmosphere we’re bringing across all of Aragon.

And honestly? We really love it.

More Is Coming Soon

This is only the beginning. We’ll be showing much more soon - environments, characters, gear, spells, enemies… the good stuff.

More is coming very soon. Promise.

Until then, thank you for staying with us and caring about this world the way we do.
Keep an eye on the next dev update - you won’t want to miss what’s coming next.
